diane, Wonderful job! Loved the music you chose (especially "Blessed"--whoo boy, that one's a five-hankie job!), the poker scene was so funny, and the announcement...what a wonderful way to demonstrate the growth in David's character and in his relationship with Maddie.
Brava!

I totally agree with you, Rose! I'm a slow reader and I know I will keep reading every episode over and over again to enjoy more these lovely episodes. David and Maddie are vividly alive in the Virtual Moonlighting World! Thank you very much to the writers!

Well, I just feel like I've been peeking through a window...one that leads to David's heart. This was a pleasure, Diane. ...Jen? We're in trouble, girlfriend....yikes!

I was thinking to myself as I read this one, that I'm falling in love with David all over again. So I guess your "love letter to David Addison" is working on me, Diane. Needless to say, I LOVED it (notice a theme here?), and I'll be reading it over again and again too.
So much good stuff this season, Ladies!

I have soaked myself in this very happy episode for several dayscand thought finally they got to this point I waited for longcit is impressive. All the people I felt sympathy in the show gathered together, which is very pleasant. And especially I love David and his fatherfs story. They talk heart to heart and when David Sr. helps his son in the gambling room, he is funny and confident, yes he is definitely his father! Davidfs speech is beautiful and touching. It occurred to me how long he (and Maddie) have come to meet this dayc he just wanted to be with her in the early episodes, and things are growing little by little for years (S. 6 to S. 8). But I believe itfs because there has always been David really trying in this term and hefs never let her go even when he was hurtcThe way he lives in his life is fascinating! And I am very happy for him to see truly happy David in this episode! And this is just my feeling, but somehow I remembered that Maddie had said to David she envied a civilized couple while dancing together in WGC. I thought they achieved becoming a civilized couple by having a great party and opening their relationship to their relatives and friends. However I have realized that I donft like to think it is exactly the same as what she felt at that time, I mean there are more than that in their relationship now, both characters are deepened faithfully and they are entering on a new phase in their lives. This is very exciting! Thank you for such a sweet episode, Diane! I had a fun time again! I forgot to ask, Does the title "Relatively Speaking" link to "Anyone can be a father,... " ? And is it a playing word?

marple,
Thanks so much for your wonderful comments. What a great observation....relating the family party to Maddie's desire to being a normal, civilized couple.
I came up with the title "Relatively Speaking" for a few reasons. First, it is a commonly used English phrase meaning " saying that something is true when you compare it with other similar things".
I also wanted to show the importance of David's speech to the family (relatives)...so I thought the phrase worked as a title.
It doesn't really relate to playing or gambling....but I do like to think that it also brings to mind David's father's comment about loving the child's mother as well as "anyone can be a father......"
You are the sweetest...thanks for your always appreciated words of support!

Thank you, Diane! I think I've totally understood. Yes, David's father loved so much and still loves his children's mother, his speech is moving, too! The title is really working!
