hmmm....my only guess would be because he was on Moonlighting. He was in Yours, Very Deadly and The Lady in The Iron Mask. He did also have a child in 1993.
His dad Chris Howell also worked on moonlighting as stunt coordinator for several episodes...Yours, Very Deadly being one of them.

Kim's got it!
C. Thomas Howell is the son of Chris Howell, the stunt coordinator for Moonlighting. He could always count on a job on ML when he was on school break. (hence "your father got you the job")
He was also in "Come Back Little Shiksa". In each episode in which he appeared, he was knocked over, sometimes multiple times. How's that for a fun fact!
